Carol Lommen

Carol Lommen taught at Bonanza High School from its inception until 2001. An award-winning theatre director and yearbook advisor, Carol strongly believes in the power of communications through media, speech, and performing arts. She established the Nevada Thespian conferences, Nevada State Thespian Board, and served as State Director, Regional Trustee, and became the Educational Theatre Association National President as well as an EdTA Leadership Coach. She was affiliated with over 170 Bonanza High School productions, including working with 225 one-act and full-length plays. Lommen received the CCSD Outstanding Educator Award in 1987 for the Bonanza of One Act Program. Several of the yearbooks she advised were selected as All American and Medalists. These are the highest rating presented by the National Scholastic Press Association and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1964 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, Carol taught for 11 years in Simi Valley and Canyon Country in California. She gained her Master’s of Science in Education from Nova University in 1985 and graduated from Tony Robbins Mastery University in 2001.

Carol has taught theatre for over 50 years and is currently teaching Improv at Odyssey Charter School. Her company, Take Action Seminars, emphasizes True Colors Communications. She enjoys playing bridge and attending theatre productions throughout the Las Vegas area.
