Friends and Family of Janie Brennan Bordinhao

Janie Brennan Bordinhao was born September 14, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  From a young age, Janie set her heart on becoming a teacher.  Janie graduated from Durango High School in 2010 and then from the University of Oregon in 2014 with a B.A. in Public Education.  She earned her Masters in Elementary Education from John Hopkins in 2016.  Janie completed Teach for America in 2016 touching lives in a small underserved community in North Carolina.  In the fall of 2016, her teaching journey took her overseas to teach English in Thailand.  Upon returning home, Janie was diagnosed with leukemia in the spring of 2017.

In late 2018, Janie returned to teach part-time in the Las Vegas School District before learning the leukemia had returned. Janie lost her courageous battle on January 15, 2019.
