Albert Avila established Fremont Academy’s nationally recognized Mariachi Azul program and made extensive contributions to the recognition of mariachi music in the Las Vegas educational community. His passion for music, dedication to the students he served, and his love of life, made him a beloved teacher and colleague. He left his students with an appreciation for music and lifelong memories of their days in his classroom. We are proud to present the Albert Avila Musical Excellence Award in his honor.
