Ken Cribbins Memorial Scholarship, Sponsored by Sunrise Chapter #28, Order of the Eastern Star
Ken Cribbins, 1930-2012
Ken began piano lessons before the age of five. When old enough, he rode the streetcar from Burlingame, California, to San Francisco for his lessons. High school offered him the opportunity to play the viola in the Burlingame High School orchestra. However, piano was his “thing” – for his amusement, amazement, relaxation, and for the pleasure of others. In his later years, his arthritic hands and thumbs presented a new challenge.
Ken played for Masonic groups in California and Nevada – the last 16 years as the organist for Sunrise Chapter #28, Order of the Eastern Star, Henderson. He also served as Grand Organist for the Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons of Nevada in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
