North Las Vegas Firefighters William J. Harnedy Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is to honor the life of William Joseph Harnedy.

William Joseph Harnedy was born August 18, 1962, and graduated from Dublin High School in 1980. William earned an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Technology in 1983 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1987.

Harnedy served his country as a Marine Corps reservist. In 1988, Harnedy received his Paramedic Certificate. William was hired by the North Las Vegas Fire Department in 1993. Harnedy loved to travel and lived life to the fullest, enjoying time with his friends. He volunteered his time with the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation and was active in his local firefighting union, Local 1607. Harnedy was loved and respected by all. On Thursday, December 11, 2003, at the age of 41, Bill died in his Las Vegas home after a long battle with cancer.
