Paula Aleatha Garry-Johnson Memorial Scholarship
Paula Garry-Johnson was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated from Clark High School in 1972. She left Las Vegas after graduation to attend Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her passion and compassion to help others showed up in everything that she did. Paula later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from UNLV in 1984. She had the drive and desire to continue her mission of helping others so she continued her education at UNLV and in 1992, she graduated with a master’s degree in Social Work. Paula was a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers. She continued to work and give to those in need up until her passing in 2011.
