The Garrett Meriwether Foundation
The Garrett Meriwether Foundation was founded by the family of Garrett Meriwether, a young man who was tragically killed on May 22, 2019 by a driver under the influence. Garrett was only 18 years old the day he died and had just recently finished his first year at UNLV filled with the hope and promise of a career in hospitality management and a graduate of Palo Verde High School. He was a loving son, brother, nephew and dedicated friend to many, as demonstrated by his life of faith and service to others.
Garrett was a young man on the brink of adulthood, starting the next phase in his life, one that was sure to be filled with new experiences and opportunities. To honor Garrett, and in memory of his spirit, compassion and the passions he left unfulfilled, we his family, together with his friends, made a commitment to raise money for scholarships and other educational programs, so that others may have the benefit of pursuing their dreams and goals.
