United Way of Southern Nevada Women United Emerging Leadership Award for Women
All female seniors living in Clark County, Nevada with at 3.0 or higher GPA and a household income of $75,000 or less may apply for this scholarship. Student may be a senior at a charter, private, or CCSD high school and must plan to be a full-time student enrolled at a Southern Nevada four-year post-secondary institution. Student must demonstrate leadership roles in school activities and/or community. This involvement should reflect 10 or more hours per year in community service. Finalists will be interviewed. One scholarship in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded with the opportunity to renew each year for a total of $20,000 over four years. Recipients will be required to attend two Women United events per year.
Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before a check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.
