Sophie and Hans Scholl Memorial Scholarship

We are proud that the annual Sophie and Hans Scholl Memorial Scholarship is now open for application. This is the eighth year of this scholarship.

We invite those Nevada high school seniors and recent high school graduates who have not yet started college or university and who either plan to study Political Science or German at a university or college in the United States, or wish to enroll in a university in Germany to apply for this scholarship. Applicants are reminded to elaborate on their specific college plans when applying.

Previous knowledge of German is not a requirement in order to apply. Nevertheless, it is considered an asset.

Please be reminded that not all members of our board are American. We thus highly encourage, where appropriate, to briefly elaborate on autobiographical information that might not be obvious for non-Americans to grasp, but applicants deem crucial for their application.

Upon successful application we will offer one scholarship in the amount of $1,200.

Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.
