Tsutako Curo Memorial Scholarship

Any high school senior living in Clark County, Nevada who is a single mother desiring to advance her education at an accredited post-secondary institution to provide a better future for her family may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required and the student must demonstrate financial need. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded. This award is renewable for an additional year.

Verification of college enrollment (class schedule) will be required during the summer before check is mailed to the college. Scholarship funds must be applied toward tuition, fees and other appropriate educational expenses. These funds will be disbursed in equal payments over two semesters for each year awarded. The award of $2,000 is renewable for an additional year for a total not to exceed $4,000. Additionally, the renewal of this scholarship is dependent upon the awardee maintaining a GPA of 2.5 in all course work.This scholarship will become null and void should the recipient fail to enroll in an accredited institution for the upcoming fall semester and/or fails to continue enrollment for successive semesters. Permission to defer funds for up to one year may be granted if the recipient submits a written request that provides reasonable justification for the deferral.
